Harold Hunt, MD
Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery, Sports Medicine, Joint Replacement, Lower Extremity Reconstruction, Minimally Invasive Total Hip Replacement
Dr. Harold Hunt was born and raised in northeast Texas. He attended Baylor University, where he graduated cum laude, earning a Bachelor of Arts in telecommunications with a minor in chemistry. Dr Hunt subsequently attended the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, graduating in the top 5% of his class. He then headed to the northwest, where he completed his orthopedic surgery training at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, graduating in 2003.
As part of Dr. Hunt’s 11 years of military service, he served honorably as an orthopedic surgeon at Fort Lewis, Washington, and in both Würzburg and Landstuhl, Germany. During his overseas tour, he was deployed to Kosovo and Mosul, Iraq, in support of combat troops, where he treated hundreds of wounded American soldiers, as well as Iraqi soldiers and civilians.
Dr. Hunt is also an active member with the Utah and Idaho Chapters of Operation Walk performing vital hip and knee replacements in the impoverished regions of El Salvador.


Stuart Myers, MD
Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery, Foot & Ankle procedures, Sports Medicine
Dr. Myers moved to Colorado after finishing his foot and ankle subspecialty fellowship. He is an East Coast transplant, having attended Princeton for College, U. Penn for medical school, and Johns Hopkins for his residency. He is a foot and ankle specialist for Orthopedic Centers of Colorado and his training gives him expertise in all disorders of the foot and ankle.
Dr. Myers has two patient care objectives: restore function and alleviate pain. He derives immense satisfaction from achieving these with his patients. Dr. Myers specializes in foot surgery, ankle procedures, sports medicine, trauma care, minimally invasive and microscope assisted techniques and general orthopedic procedures.
For Dr. Myers, orthopedic surgery is more than a job; it is a life’s pursuit. Outside of the office and the operating room, Dr. Myers enjoys downhill skiing and general aviation.


Judy Kopinski, MD
Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery, Total & Partial Knee & Hip Replacement, Complex Knee & Hip Procedures including Revisions, Hip & Knee Arthroscopy
I love hearing from patients, “Dr. Kopinski, you gave me my life back.” My primary goal is to help all patients regain their quality of life. I am passionate about educating others regarding their underlying joint issues and counseling them on both non-operative and operative treatment solutions. I aim to treat every patient like family, providing excellent individualized care focusing on pain relief and return of function.
Dr. Kopinski is a board-certified Orthopedic surgeon who specializes in Adult Reconstruction. She attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, and completed her Orthopedic Residency at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. She completed her fellowship training at Washington University in St. Louis in Joint Preservation, Resurfacing, and Replacement. After fellowship, Dr. Kopinski joined WellSpan Health in York, PA where she practiced for six years. She joined Colorado Orthopedic Consultants in 2022.
She has extensive experience in treating primary, revision, and complex knee and hip problems. Before her move to Colorado, she was the Medical Director of Adult Reconstruction at Wellspan Health. There, she developed patient-centered protocols that reduce narcotic usage after a joint replacement and shorten the length of stay after surgery.
Dr. Kopinski performs joint preservation surgeries including hip and knee arthroscopy, primarily focusing her skills on joint replacement. She offers partial knee replacements, total knee and hip replacements, hip resurfacing procedures, and revision hip and knee replacements. She specializes in minimally invasive surgery, and robotic surgery, and is well-versed in complex joint problems.
Dr. Kopinski is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and is part of the Women in Arthroplasty committee. She has published articles on joint replacement issues and patient-centered outcomes. She enjoys focusing on quality improvement projects within healthcare to better the outcomes and safety of her patients.


Nate Faulkner, MD
Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery, Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy, Shoulder Procedures
Dr. Nathan Faulkner is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in comprehensive shoulder and knee surgery, sports medicine, fractures, arthritis, and uses minimally invasive and microscope techniques. He received a BS in biochemistry from the University of Utah, where he also graduated from medical school and was inducted into the esteemed Alpha Omega Alpha honors society.
He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Wisconsin where he received several education and research awards. He received specialty training in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy during his fellowship at the world-renowned Southern California Orthopedic Institute (SCOI) in Los Angeles. Dr. Faulkner is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. He is actively involved in the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.
Throughout his career, Dr. Faulkner has been involved in research and has authored several original scientific articles and book chapters. His work, demonstrating a technique for grafting complex rotator cuff tears, has been highlighted at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery national meeting. He has volunteered to train orthopedic surgeons from all over the world in advanced shoulder surgery techniques at the Orthopedic Learning Center in Chicago. He has extensive experience covering high school, collegiate, and professional sports, and formerly served as associate team physician for the professional lacrosse team Denver Outlaws. In his free time, Dr. Faulkner enjoys mountain biking, fly fishing, golfing, and skiing. He also enjoys exploring the outdoors with his wife and children.

Kirk Jeffers, MD
Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery, Minimally Invasive Arthroscopic Surgery, Sports Medicine
Before medical school, Dr. Jeffers spent time in Vail, CO, helping patients rehabilitate and recover from orthopedic injuries. This gives him an interesting perspective on patient care as he has helped guide patients through every phase of an injury: from diagnosing them on the field, to performing their surgery, to helping them rehab and recover. He completed medical school in Tampa at the University of South Florida. He then did his orthopedic surgery residency in New Orleans at Louisiana State University. After completing residency, he moved here to Denver to complete a fellowship in Sports Medicine Surgery at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic where he helped take care of the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies and Cherry Creek High School.
Dr. Jeffers is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. He provides surgical and non-surgical care of joint, muscle, tendon and ligament injuries. Taking care of world class athletes, he fine-tuned his skills in complex ligament and tendon repair/reconstruction. He also takes on complex revision cases. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He has published on rare injuries, ACL reconstruction in Division I football players, and complex hip anatomy.
Dr. Jeffers is a family man who loves to enjoy the outdoors and sporting events with his wife, Susie, their children and their dog. He enjoys skiing, snowboarding and playing sports outdoors. Dr. Jeffers is also an avid fan of the NFL, NCAA, MLB, and NBA.

Matt Delarosa, MD
Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery, Hand Surgery, Wrist & Elbow Surgery
Dr. Matthew Delarosa is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hand, wrist, and elbow surgery. He provides both surgical and nonsurgical treatment to improve function and reduce pain. He focuses on complex trauma and reconstruction of the upper extremity, wrist surgery and arthroscopy, elbow surgery, targeted muscle reinnervation, elective treatment of nerve compressions and hand arthritis, and injuries to soft tissues including nerves, tendons, and ligaments.
Originally from Baton Rouge, LA, Dr. Delarosa completed medical school and orthopedic training at LSUHSC New Orleans. He then further specialized in Hand and Microsurgery at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, NC under the direction of Dr. Glenn Gaston. In addition to the full spectrum of routine upper extremity problems, a significant portion of his fellowship training concentrated on brachial plexus and complex peripheral nerve injuries. Additionally, he traveled to Florianopolis, Brazil to study under Dr. Jayme Bertelli, an expert in peripheral nerve injuries, brachial plexus injuries, and tendon transfers. He is also interested in improving function of upper extremity amputees through targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR) and the use of a myoelectric prosthesis. Through his work in congenital, brachial plexus, and amputee specialty clinics he has gained a wealth of knowledge on the multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Working at OCC offered the opportunity to work amongst an amazing peer group of dedicated orthopedic surgeons that strive for nothing but the best for their patients.
Outside of work, Dr. Delarosa is an avid golfer and ultra runner as well as a fan of Texas, LSU and New Orleans Saints football. Most of his time off is spent with his wife, Ali, and their two children.


Jared Michalson, MD

Jared L. Michalson, MD, is an expert in the surgical treatment of knee and hip arthritis and fractures throughout the body. He grew up on a corn and soybean farm in northcentral Iowa and incorporates that humble background and sense of community into the care of his patients. His goal for patient care is simple: to utilize the latest and most proven nonsurgical and surgical methods to eliminate pain and restore desired function as quickly as possible. Along the way, Dr. Michalson and his team work diligently to ensure that patients and their families fully understand the diagnosis, treatment options, and recovery.
Dr. Michalson is one of a small percentage of orthopedic surgeons who has dual fellowship training. With fellowship training in orthopedic trauma, Dr. Michalson treats new and old fractures of the upper and lower extremities as well as the pelvis and is the Medical Director of Orthopedic Trauma at The Medical Center of Aurora. Using aggressive and early surgical treatment when necessary and nonsurgical treatment when appropriate, Dr. Michalson approaches each patient and their injury carefully and uniquely to ensure the best possible treatment and outcome.
Dr. Michalson is also fellowship trained in the surgical treatment of knee and hip arthritis. He specializes in outpatient knee and hip replacement, minimally invasive anterior approach hip replacement, robotic arm knee replacement, and partial knee replacement. He also performs revision knee and hip replacement surgery for patients with prior knee or hip replacement who are having pain or limitation of function. Using the most advanced surgical techniques and postoperative pain management strategies, his goal is for the quickest possible resolution of pain, resumption of work, return to driving, and re-engagement in normal life.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Michalson enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. They love the Denver area for its outdoor activities, the many dining options, and its wonderful museums. He additionally enjoys golfing and fishing in his spare time.


Stephen Thon, MD
Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery, Sports Medicine, Shoulder, Knee & Hip Replacement
Dr. Stephen Thon is an orthopedic surgeon born and raised in Denver, Colorado, now practicing in the south Denver area. He is fellowship trained in the field of orthopedic Sports Medicine, where he received expert training in arthroscopic and minimally invasive orthopedic procedures. He focuses on advanced arthroscopic techniques for repair and complex reconstruction of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee joints. He has received specialized training in primary and revision rotator cuff repair surgery, shoulder instability surgery, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, and shoulder replacement (shoulder arthroplasty). Dr. Thon also has a special interest in injury prevention, especially for youth and adolescent athletes.
Dr. Thon grew up in southeast Denver and attended Cherry Creek High School. He completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado – Boulder with bachelor’s degrees in Biochemistry and Integrative Physiology while playing collegiate and club rugby. He earned his medical degree (MD) and completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, where he was a Chief Resident.
Following his residency training, Dr. Thon sought out sub-specialty training in the field of Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Shoulder surgery at the University of Colorado – Anschutz Medical Center. During his fellowship, he served as team physician for the NHL Colorado Avalanche; University of Colorado Buffaloes football, basketball, and soccer teams; Denver University Pioneers hockey, soccer, and lacrosse teams, along with a variety of local high school athletic teams in the Denver/Boulder area. Dr. Thon’s fellowship training focused on the surgical management of complex sports injuries in athletes of all levels. Dr. Thon takes care of athletes and non-athletes alike. He is committed to providing the highest quality of care for his patients so they may return to the life they want as quickly and safely as possible. In addition to his clinical work, he is dedicated to advancing the field of orthopedics through research and has published multiple articles and book chapters throughout his career.
After completing his fellowship, Dr. Thon started practice in Denver, CO, to be close to his family and serve the community that he grew up in. When not practicing orthopedics, Dr. Thon can be found enjoying the outdoors with his wife, Keleigh, and their two dogs, Blue and Hefe. They love participating in every season Colorado has to offer, from taking the dogs hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. He is an ardent fan of all Colorado sports, including the Broncos, Avalanche, Nuggets, and Rockies, and an adopted fan of the New Orleans Saints.


Jeffrey Arthur, DO
Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery, Total Knee & Hip Replacement, Shoulder Procedures, Hip Arthroplasty, Complex Revision Procedures
Dr. Arthur attended medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania. He completed his orthopedic residency in Toledo, Ohio and completed his undergraduate training at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Dr. Arthur completed his joint fellowship at the University of California, Davis and in 2011 joined Colorado Orthopedic Consultants.
His advanced training gives him expertise in total knee and total hip replacement. He performs minimally invasive total hip arthroplasty and complex revision procedures, shoulder procedures, and knee procedures. He is trained in trauma and other general orthopedic procedures and is an active member of the AAOS, AOAO and AOA. He has participated and is currently involved in research projects utilizing the latest advances in total joint replacement technology.
Dr. Arthur has been involved in athletics his entire life. He enjoys martial arts and bodybuilding. When Dr. Arthur is not in the operating room he travels at least once a year with his wife and two children. He enjoys skiing in the winter and swimming, biking, and taking drives in the warmer months. He can sometimes be found at car events or the racing track when time permits. Life passes by very quickly, so he likes to work hard but also play hard too.

JoAnne Dodson, RN, BSN, MBA, CNOR
JoAnne Dodson, RN, BSN, MBA, CNOR, is the Clinical Administrator at Denver Orthopedic Surgery Center (DOSC). She was born in Seoul, South Korea and raised in Colorado. She graduated from Denver College of Nursing earning her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Subsequently, she got her Master’s in Business Administration from Grand Canyon University. JoAnne has been in the healthcare industry for eighteen years and spent the last 13 years in leadership.
She is passionate about nursing as a profession, leadership, and encouraging and supporting her team. JoAnne believes in providing exceptional patient experience by delivering individualized, compassionate care. She is a strong patient advocate, always working to enhance the care setting to promote excellent patient care and outcomes, while promoting a healthy work environment. When not working, she enjoys cooking and baking for her family. She loves spending time outdoors hiking, riding bikes or paddle boarding. JoAnne and her family also enjoy traveling. She is a fan of all Colorado sports, including the Broncos, Rockies, Avalanche and the Nuggets.
